My journey of self discovery...

Escorted Out of Machu Picchu… Almost

In Appreciation of an Ancient Civilization – The Inca Empire

I really enjoyed Machu Picchu. I must say that I agree with the people who believe aliens built it because I don’t think any humans would have been able to move so many massive stones to such heights in the mountaintops. As we were walking through the tour I asked my friend Cam, “Do you think it would be appropriate if I take off my shirt?” to which he replied, “the definition of appropriate is relative...” So then I took off my shirt and asked him to take a few shirtless pictures of me. It wasn’t too long before one of the rangers started yelling at me in Spanish. They told me to put on my shirt or else I would be escorted out so then I quickly put my shirt back on. I just thought, what’s the problem? The Inca didn’t wear shirts LOL…

It was very foggy and raining when we first arrived to the town of Machu Picchu.

This was when we reached one of the highest points with our tour guide. I was very disappointed because it was still so foggy and we couldn't see anything.

I really like this picture because I think I look like Jesus and I was asking God to please clear away the fog so I could take some good pictures.

By the time we started coming down the mountain the fog was starting to clear and I was very happy about that.

I could feel the sacredness and spirituality in the air.

Our tour guide said that the Inca believed that the mountain peaks gave divine guidance and protection.

We hiked for over an hour to reach the top of La Puerta Del Sol, or the Sun Gate. It was very nice and sunny by the time we got here.

I had to stand at the edge of a very scary rock here as we were coming down the mountain.
